Every day is the beginning of a new year, is the way I see it. A constant, simple wish of mine, for myself and my family, is to have more light and color in our lives. It shouldn’t be too hard in a place where the sun shines over 300 days a year. May this year be the year the sun shines through our lives.
oh those tiles in the second photo are like a dream….love your blog
You should work for the Moroccan Tourist Board, Nora!
Bises.
We tend to forget that some places on this planet seem to have eternal sunlight flooding through peoples homes and hearts.
Very amazing images.
A great year for you and your family.
Wishing you and your family a most colorful creative and blessed new year!
I love reading your blogs. Your photos and cheerful stories of your family life are so encouraging to me. I have visited Marrakech 4 times and am so enamoured with your amazing city. I am in love with a Moroccan man, I am an American woman and we plan to make our life in Morocco rather than here in the US. Your blogs give me helpful insight. Blessing to you and your family,
Melanie
Thank you Melanie, it’s so gratifying to know that this blog is genuinely appreciated. I wish you a wonderful life with your love, may God’s mercy and protection envelop you always.
Wishing you continued light this year, Nora. I love your photos! I could use some sunshine right now.
Thank you all for your wishes, may your year be rich with blessings and God’s subtle gentleness (lutf).
Beautiful photos, and I really enjoyed the color in them. I always enjoy all of your photos.
Assalaamu alaikum sister,
what a beautiful thought and what amazing photos. I wish I could be in a place with all that sunshine and vibrant colors (even though I know the people of your city would often trade with me for a bit of shade). May Allah bless you this year, every day and forever. I also meant to comment on your post where you talked about the baking business you helped your friends to set up. I hope its success will continue and may Allah bless the sisters and you for the goodness you are spreading. It inspires me greatly. Barakallahufik***
These past few weeks have been good for light in Marrakesh and its environs — not the overwhelming glare of summer, but a wonderful sunlight especially in early morning and dusk, and when it reflects off the snow on the Atlas mountains —- and your simple and sweet subjects show this perfectly. Here’s a wonderful mystery for me: we can’t see light except when it reflects off objects and the colors which arise are in how the object interacts with the spectrum carried by the light. Isn’t that how it is with us and God? Llahu Nuuru s-samawaati wa-l-ard, mathalu Nuurihi ka mishkaatin fiihi zujaaj.
Much love, peace, and light
Assalamu Alaykom,
It’s a very long time that haven’t seen you last time, I spent more than one hour looking if I can find any photo of you on internet but in vain, but I still remember your shined face (Nour).
Excuse me; my expression in English is a little bit timid
